Social Work is the premiere journal of the social work profession.

The journal also provides knowledge useful across disciplines and for work across the life course. USW aims to establish a forum for dialogue, debate, critical analysis and identification of relevant and cutting edge solutions for today’s urban communities. The journal provides literature on collaborative problem-solving intervention and prevention. Fundamentally, the underlying focus of the journal is to respond to challenges of urban communities by identifying strengths and assets for problem resolution using a holistic systems perspective. This journal contributes to the improvement and sustainability of healthy urban communities through publication of articles on all components of social work in urban communities inclusive of assets and challenges that would be useful to educators, researchers, practitioners, policy makers, community leaders and social work students.
